We hope you are all keeping safe in these challenging times!
In the light of the news about the new Covid variant Omicron, as we have already had a high level of safety precautions in place, we need to just to carry on as before.
1. Masks! 😷 All visitors / parents at all times. If you are not in a mask please wait at the gate and your child will be collected. Do not send them in alone and you will need to be patient.
2. Please stand well away from staff. They have been told not to get close enough to speak with you for your protection and theirs. If you are talking to a member of staff, even for a moment, you are too close. Call or email. We are here to support you and your child needs but will not do it face to face. We will call you back ASAP or respond via email. The office are there as well to assist you.
3. No changes to lunch arrangements due to safety and staffing pressures. If your child has a significant medical concern with medical evidence and agreed with Mrs Bains, it may be appropriate for them to have a specific packed lunch. All other children will have the usual two options, with a new third option, if they not too sure if they will like a particular days menu. In this case, there is now the option of a cheese sandwich along with salad and pudding etc. This is a simple, healthy option that the kitchen are providing to support the needs of those pupils who might find they prefer a bread based choice.
4. School is dealing daily with significant staff absences, which is putting huge pressure on all staff to continue to run the school safely and meet all pupils needs. Often these staff cannot even be covered with supply staff, as there are none available, so their work must be added to the workload of others. We know it’s a stressful time for families as well but we do ask that families are polite and courteous in all contacts with the office/ school staff. Any concerns at all email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 02085702562 and we will either help you immediately or get back to you ASAP.
Thank you as always for your continued support which now, more than ever, is greatly appreciated. We need to work calmly together to keep our community safe and our pupils in school.
